When I first starting organizing treks up Kilimanjaro as a fundraiser for Norris Cotton Cancer Center, I asked Dartmouth’s alumni travel organizers what travel operator they would recommend. I took their advice and selected award-winning Immersion Journeys.
When we started GivingJourneys/JourneyGives, our first trip was to Tanzania to trek Mt. Kilimanjaro. Having worked successful with Immersion Journeys since 2012, we naturally selected Immersion Journeys for our GivingJourneys trip to the top of Africa. Founder Rumit Mehta is the inspiration behind the award-winning company which specializes in Africa and South Asia. With his 12 years of experience in the travel business, he decided to expand into South America in partnership with his brother, Rushik.
Co-founders of Coddiwomple Journeys, Rumit Mehta and Rushik Mehta, were both born and raised in Tanzania of Indian descent and now both live in the US—Rumit in New York and Rushik with his family just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. After completing his MBA and working 17 years in corporate America, Rushik decided to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Always looking for an adventure, and propelled by his fascination with traveling and experiencing diverse cultures and history, he decided to start his own company in partnership with his brother, Rumit.
